Alice Sims, left, and Molly Johnson work on handcrafted holiday greeting cards Sept. 17 at St. David’s Episcopal Church in Wasilla to share with soldiers serving in Afghanistan. The Wasilla Card Project has made 800 blank cards for service members to use to stay in touch with family back home. The group hopes to make another 800 by late October. The Wasilla Card Project meets from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Oct. 8 at the church, Mile 2.2 Wasilla-Fishhook Road. The public is invited. No special skills are needed, just a pair of scissors and some double-sided tape.
