Students have until Feb. 10 to apply to be part of the SERRC, Alaska Educational Resource Center Career Connections program that brings students from around the state to Juneau for a week of job shadow opportunities.
Open to high school juniors and seniors, Career Connections places students at work sites in fields of their interest, explores related careers and higher education opportunities and prepares students for the world of work.
During the session, students will stay at Juneau Youth Hostel, job shadow at work sites, participate in field trips to a variety of work sites and attend career exploration classes.
Career Connections offers sessions April 9 to 13 and April 16 to 21. Tuition for students is $650, plus airfare to Juneau and students must be accompanied by a teacher or a chaperone (five students to one adult per school site).
