Cartoon missed the mark

On Oct. 2, the Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman published an editorial cartoon that linked Agrium’s Kenai Nitrogen Operations to the recent corruption trials underway in Alaska. The message the cartoonist was trying to send is unclear to me; however, I am extremely offended by the inference. Agrium has not been involved in the corruption trials involving Alaska politicians and Veco. As we close the plant due to lack of natural gas supply in Cook Inlet, we close the doors knowing our ethics and morals are intact.

Chris J. Sonnichsen

Alaska operation director

Agrium U.S. Inc. Kenai Nitrogen Operations

Editor’s note: There was no intent to portray Agrium as being involved in the corruption scandal involving state lawmakers. We apologize for any misconception.
