Cartoon unfair to Stevens

The hype added to the bad-taste cartoon referring to Ted Stevens (Aug. 19 Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman, page 4) is typical of an editorial policy that reflects the “new” ownership of the Frontiersman.

I met Ted Stevens over 55 years ago in Fairbanks. Ted is a personal friend of mine and I resent Johnny-come-latelys who do not understand the many years of his dedication to Alaska and to all citizens in the state.

I happened to buy a paper and do on occasion get one, but my minimal interest in your rag has been diminished.
