Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Houston resident, Mrs. Cathy Louise Banks, 46, died of cancer at her residence July 26, 2003.
A Celebration of Life service will be held tomorrow, Aug. 2, at 11 a.m. at the Willow Chapel, Mile 69.5 Parks Highway. Pastor Arley Enloe will officiate. Be aware of road construction and delays in Willow. An additional service will be held in Roseburg, Ore., at a later date.
Mrs. Banks was born Aug. 8, 1956, in Aberdeen, Wash.
She was a graduate of the American Laundry and Linen College. She attended business college and received her Life and Health Insurance license in 2000.
She worked for National Bank of Alaska from the summer of 1997 to 2000 and worked for Robert Cederholm & Associates from 2000 to March 2003.
Mrs. Banks was a member of the Willow Chapel.
She loved her family and her grandbabies. She loved being around family, friends and people. She loved her dog King, her bird Babies and her cat Precious.
Her family said, "My Mom was a very beautiful, loving and caring person. She loved spending time with her family and her friends. If someone needed a place to stay, our home was their home. She was a fighter, she won the first battle of cancer, but the last one was too much to take."
Mrs. Banks is survived by her husband, Don Banks of Houston; son, Mike Banks of Houston; daughters and sons-in-law, Melisa and Scott Sulffridge of Roseburg, Ore., and Katy and Daniel Clark of Portland, Ore.; grandchildren, Ashley "Ash" Sulffridge, Kelsey "Kelsey Gal" or "Little Missy" Sulfridge and Jessica "Jesse" Clark, Nicole "P-nut" Clark; sister and brother-in-law, Cindy and Steve Buell of Houston; brothers and sisters-in-law, Danny and Wanda Nawman of Roseburg, Ore., and Steve and Terry Nawman of Reno, Nev.; father, Earl Nawman of Houston; "adopted daughters" Tiffany Duncan of Austin, Texas and Peggy Hendrichson of Sutherlin, Ore.; aunt Evelyn Klemmer and uncle Keith Klemmer of Roseburg, Ore.; family members, Boris Fruzen of Big Lake, Mitzi Gibbons, Dixie Davis and many more extended family members and friends.
Her mother, Bonnie Nawman, aunt, Marian Henson, and uncle, Jim Henson, preceded her in death.
