To the editor:
The Cedar Hill Subdivision would like to thank all the firefighters, both in the air and on the ground, as well as the police who were overseeing the ever-worsening fire behind our community on top of Bailey Hill the afternoon of May 11. The strong wind was blowing the fire directly toward our subdivision at a fast pace.
I can say that if the combined resources of all the firefighters with their equipment had been 10 minutes to 15 minutes later, there would have been some families whose lives would be disrupted because we had already been given a warning for evacuation within 15 minutes. Please remember this community when you have your next fundraiser. I knew several of these firefighters and did not know they were volunteers until this fire. The fire was less than a stone’s throw away when it was put out.
All of Cedar Hills Subdivision thanks you!
