Marian (LaChance) and Robert (Bob) Teeling

Robert and Marian Teeling live in Palmer. They were married in Kingston, Wash., at Bob’s family homestead on Feb. 1, 1950.

There will be a special dinner at the home of their son Bob and his wife Sandy in Wasilla with their grandchildren and great-grandchildren present.

On Feb. 27, the couple will fly to Florida to board a ship to cruise the Panama Canal. They will stop over in Kingston to have a special dinner with their daughter Betty before heading home.

Bob and Marian moved to Alaska and spent their first year living in a small log cabin just outside Independence Mine. Bob had a job working at the mine for the first year. They moved back to Washington state, where Marian had their son Robert, and two years later their daughter Betty.

The Teelings have family in Alaska and Washington, but made their permanent residence in Alaska in 1971.

Bob has retired from the Teamsters. Marian, a homemaker, had a garden and greenhouse at their place on Maud Road.

They have five grandchildren and three that are deceased, six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren due this year.
