The city of Wasilla is a vibrant business community that is growing and remains strong. The business-friendly atmosphere is due to the ample and educated work force, affordable housing, strong school system and beautiful surroundings.
In order to maintain a healthy and balanced economy, the Greater Wasilla Chamber of Commerce is here to assist your business to grow. Whether it is to start a new venture or enlarge your existing one, we are available with information both through our office or referrals to other sources.
Some basic help with starting your own business
At one time or another, almost everyone thinks about opening his or her own business. It is the American Dream. This is the land of opportunity, and you can be successful at anything if you are willing to work at.
That is the key to success: Anything you are willing to work at. Owning your own business is hard work. Sometimes you have to work 15 to 18 hours a day, seven days a week, and you may not draw a salary for two years.
If you are prepared for the challenges, the Wasilla Chamber of Commerce is here to provide information that helps you reach your dream.
Our goal is to continuously improve the business climate and build opportunities for growth in Wasilla and the Mat-Su Valley. We accomplish this through programs focused on advocacy, economic development, events and direct services to our members. We exist to help our member businesses succeed.
n Economic development — Help to develop economic growth in our key industries of health care, manufacturing, information technology, financial services, military, hospitality/tourism and many more.
n Public affairs — Work with our members and elected officials at the local, county, state and federal levels to develop pro-business advocacy positions.
n Membership development — Enlist and engage all members in making the most of their chamber membership, including networking opportunities and networking events.
n Chamber events — Provide all of the planning and processing of chamber events held throughout the year.
We understand the needs of each member are unique. The value of your chamber membership lies in getting involved in those areas that make the most sense to your business and your priorities.
The Greater Wasilla Chamber is committed to adding value to your business: Visibility, advocacy, leadership, unity and education.
Please join us for our weekly lunch.
