Each year, teachers nominate individuals and businesses that have demonstrated continued support of children and public education in the Valley.
"We have parents, grandparents, individuals without children and businesses coming into the schools to help with tutoring, special projects and activities, mentoring and providing other goods and services," said Barbara Morris, the MSEA president, in a press release. "It is unfortunate we can't give everyone this award because each and every volunteer is vital to the education of children."
Students Adam Patterson and Bobby Bowlin provided the entertainment.
