WASILLA — A Wasilla man who escaped ankle monitoring and was arrested a week later may have killed another man shortly before his flight from justice.

Joshua Beebe, 30, faces charges of first-degree murder, three counts of second-degree murder, two counts of first-degree robbery, and two counts of third-degree weapons misconduct. He remained in Goose Creek Correctional facility Friday evening on $500,000 bail. Beebe was scheduled for an arraignment in superior court on Monday at 11:30 a.m. in Palmer. The case was assigned to judge Gregory Heath.

Details were scant Friday evening, and charging documents weren’t immediately available at the Palmer Courthouse.

The listed dates for the majority of the offenses predate Beebe’s flight from justice. Court records show two offense dates for the crimes: June 17 and June 22.

The night of June 22, Christopher Seaman, 23, disappeared. Troopers found his body the next morning near the fireworks stands in Houston in a silver Honda. Seaman, whose mother told the Frontiersman was a recovering drug addict, had recently started work at an Anchorage fencing company.

Seaman’s mother, Terria Jean Walters, said Friday in a Facebook update that Seaman’s birthday would have been Monday.

“This is the man who is accused of killing my baby boy,” she wrote. “Finally get to talk about it.”

The state’s online CourtView system indicates Beebe has been in almost constant trouble with the law since first coming to the attention of law enforcement in 2001. On Sunday, a check of the website showed Beebe had 47 records spread across two pages in the system, including criminal and civil cases. His past convictions include evasion, escape, assault, theft, leaving the scene of an accident, misconduct involving a controlled substance and failure to stop at the direction of a police officer, a Class C felony. He’s also got an open case for felony theft that allegedly occurred in June of 2014.

Troopers arrested Beebe the same day they found Seaman’s body on a $5,000 arrest warrant. Beebe had been free since he failed to appear for a pre-trial conference Feb. 11. After two days in jail, Beebe was released on $2,500 bail with electronic monitoring as a condition of release. Troopers say Beebe cut the ankle monitor off on June 25 after about 20 minutes outside of jail and disappeared.

Troopers found and arrested him on July 9 in Williwaw subdivision. He’s been in jail ever since.
