WASILLA — The 17th annual Palmer Volunteer Fire Fighters Charity Hockey Game is set for 6 p.m at the MTA Events Center in downtown Palmer Saturday.

Each year, hockey alumni from the Alaska Aces, UAA Seawolves, and other organizations volunteer to help out with the event. Aces and Seawolves team captains, William Wrenn and Tyler Currier are participating in this year’s event.

This event serves as a fundraiser that fuels the volunteer Palmer firefighters’ training program, helping them acquire much-needed equipment to better prepare for fires and other emergencies. It also helps their efforts supporting local youth programs during the school year, and providing gifts and toys to local families over the holiday season.

Tickets will be available at the door. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for kids 12 and under.
