Chicago-born-and-bred entrepreneurs Damon Patton and Jamhal Johnson launched Moor’s Brewing Co. on Juneteenth 2021, and they’ve been mad busy ever since, aggressively getting their products onto shelves all across the city. To date, Moor’s can be found in more than 100 venues throughout Chicagoland, from Tilly’s Pit & Pub in the south suburbs to the Four Seasons Hotel on the Magnificent Mile. It’s also in nine Binny’s liquor stores. This is a first for a Black-owned beer brand.
Get ready for a non-alcoholic beer, plus an anniversary beer to be released Juneteenth 2022, as well as a taproom in the city within a few years. With the taproom and their own facility, they are aiming to help more Black-owned craft beer, wine, and spirit brands get off the ground.
