The Alaska Police Standards Council certified Angela Wade as a police officer in the state of Alaska in April.
Wade, a tribal citizen of Chickaloon Native Village, graduated from the police academy at the Tanana Valley Campus of the University of Alaska Fairbanks and began working as a Tribal Peace Officer with the Chickaloon Village Traditional Council Justice Department in 2013.
In 2014, she was certified as an Emergency Medical Technician 1 by the state of Alaska after completing her certification training at Mat-Su College.
As a Tribal Peace Officer, Wade provides service to the community by assisting during emergencies, maintaining culturally respectful close contact with families and especially elders, and performing a wide variety of community services. She strives to create a safe and healthy community with effective comprehensive justice services by partnering with other agencies, law enforcement departments and the courts.
