Keller Williams Realty Alaska Group and First Rate Financial is hosting its second annual Children’s Place Golf Invitational July 11 at Settlers Bay Golf Course.
Registration begins at 8 a.m. and the tourney tees off at 9 a.m. Organizers are in search of teams to play and sponsors. To support The Children’s Place, register a team, or sponsor our event, see golf4ourkids.org, or contact Kibe Lucas at 907-232-4663.
The group’s mission is to raise awareness about child abuse, provide financial support, and highlight the important work of The Children’s Place.
The Children’s Place is a local non-profit Child Advocacy Center. They provide a child-friendly, safe and neutral location in which law enforcement and the Office of Children Services conduct and observe forensic interviews with children who are victims of crime. The child and non-offending family members receive support, crisis intervention, and referrals for mental health and medical treatment. Since opening their door in 1999, The Children’s Place has provided these very specialized services to over 3,800 children.
Events like this golf tournament help raise money to provide services to children. Organized by local business owners and sponsored by First Rate Financial, Guild Mortgage, the US Army, and many more local sponsors, the organizers hope to raise at least $50,000.
