Christian, believe the Bible

The word of God says perilous times will come in the last days. That is where we are at, but at the same time it is an exciting time to be here.

I believe Christians need to take the word of God and get it rooted in their heart as never before. There are many messages out there, preachers from one end of the spectrum to the completely opposite. Who do you believe? Believe the Bible — the inspired word of God. Don’t listen to, believe, or any way take in, teachings that are contrary to the Bible, because your eternal reward is at stake.

The reason that false teachers are out there is because some people have itching ears.

2 Timothy 4:3-4 says “for the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.”

The Bible has many scriptures that tell us how important it is to stay the course; Apostle Paul said to run the race. Let’s look at some scriptures, first what we should watch out for and then what we must do as born-again Christians.

“ ... Many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. “... Matthew 24:11-12

“... Avoid the profane and idle babbling and contradictions of what is falsely called knowledge... By professing it some have strayed concerning the faith.” 1 Timothy 6:20-25

“... They have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows..., Flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness… That thou keep this commandment without spot, un-rebuke-able, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Timothy 6:10-11, 14.

“Shun profane and idle babbling for they will increase to more ungodliness.” 2 Timothy 2:16

“...In the last days perilous times will come...” “from such people turn away.” 2 Timothy 3:1,4

“Brethren, if anyone among you wanders from the truth...” James 5:19.

“Beware lest you also fall from your own steadfastness being led away with error of the wicked.” 2 Peter 3:17.

Christians need to realize we must keep our eyes on Jesus and avoid any teachings that would rob us of our faith. God is merciful and full of grace but he does ask us to follow his word.

As Christians, we are overcomers through Jesus Christ but we must stay the course.

“…Let us run the race...” Hebrews 12:1.

“…Looking for the blessed hope...” 2 Timothy 2:13.

“...Let us cleanse ourself from filthiness of the flesh and spirit...” 2 Corinthians 7:1.

“...In due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.” Galatians 6:9.

“…If you do these things you will never stumble,” 2 Peter 1:10. “Giving all diligence …faith …virtue …knowledge …temperance …patience ...godliness ...brotherly kindness ...love. The more you grow like this, the more you will become productive and useful in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.” verses 5-7.

Encouraging other Christians in Christ is what God asks each one of us to do, the first chapter of Proverbs says if sinners entice you; turn your back on them!

The word of God says, he grants a treasure of good sense to the godly. He is shield, protecting those who walk with integrity. He guards the path of justice and protects those who are faithful to him. As Christians, we are to believe his word. The reward is eternal.

Jesus is the way, for if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved.
