Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Wasilla resident Christian Douglas Hadley, 33, died Sept. 14, 2004, of injuries suffered in a vehicle accident on Pittman Road in Wasilla.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Valley Funeral Home Chapel, located at 151 E. Herning Ave. in Wasilla, with Brother Bob Wagner officiating.
Mr. Hadley was born Sept. 10, 1971, in Portland, Ore. He came to Alaska in the early 1990s and worked in construction until he opened his own insulation company, Christian Construction Inc., in 1996. He worked in the fields of insulation and construction for 14 years and operated a very successful company with pride and honesty.
His family said, "He was a very devoted family man who worked very hard and sometimes long hours to make sure his family was provided for. When it came to family time, it was his first priority to stop everything and be involved. He was a great brother, son, father and husband who loved to live life to its fullest. Christian was well-known for his great personality, sincerity and wonderful smile."
He is survived by his wife, Debbie Hadley; stepson, Timothy Harris; stepdaughter, Isabel Harris; father, Robert Douglas Hadley; sisters, Tracy Farrar, Heather Norlander and Stacey Ozuna and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bill and Jeanne Miller.
