Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Anchorage resident Christina Angela Jensen, 26, died June 17, 2005 on Gulkana Glacier near Paxton.
A celebration of life is scheduled for 2 p.m., Sunday, June 26, at Knik Bar & Grill, Mile 13.5 Knik Goose Bay Road. Bring a photo to show or a story to tell. All are welcome.
Ms. Jensen was born March 16, 1979, in Anchorage. Other than a few years in Fort Carlson, Colo., she has resided here in Alaska.
Ms. Jensen graduated from Chugiak High School and went on to work at Alaska Experience Theater and Outlook Financial Services in Anchorage. She was working toward her master's degree in anthropology.
Her mother wrote, "Thank you for being in our lives. You will be greatly missed. Our beloved friend, my beautiful daughter, my confidante and my hero. We celebrate your life."
Ms. Jensen is survived by her mother, Denise Heibel of Wasilla; father, Joey Jensen of Eagle River; brother, Mason Heibel of Wasilla; half-sisters, Audrey and Rachael Jensen of Eagle River; grandparents June and Jack Jensen of Soldotna and Alta and Jim Pecore of Wasilla; aunts, Diana Shakoske of Wasilla, Dallene Pinkley of Peters Creek and Jill Jensen of Eagle River; uncle, Jacky Jensen; many cousins; her companion, Lee Brumbaugh, and many friends.
Memorial donations to help with funeral arrangements may be sent to Mrs. Denise Heibel, P.O. Box 877407, Wasilla, AK 99687. The rest of the money will be donated to a local search and rescue group. Arrangements were with Valley Funeral Home & Crematory in Wasilla.
