Christmas concert coordinated by chorus

WASILLA - The Mat-Su Community Chorus is helping get everyone in the Christmas spirit with a performance Dec. 16.

The performance is being held at the First Presbyterian Church in Wasilla at 7 p.m. Dec. 16.

The church is located at 1375 E. Bogard Road.

The group features 30 people of all ages from around the Valley. There are students in the chorus, as well as adults. There are no age restrictions for members - an interest in music is all that is required.

The Mat-Su Community Chorus performs a minimum of two concerts a year, plus other special presentations. Every year, the group performs a spring concert and a Christmas concert.

This year's Christmas program will feature a variety of music, ranging from sacred songs relating to Christmas to the more popular, well-known Christmas songs.

The chorus and the conductor are inviting individuals with an interest in choral music to join the group as well. They are always searching for new voices to add to the group. The group meets every Thursday night at Wasilla Middle School for two hours.

Chorus members who are students are eligible for college credits through Mat-Su College. The credits are available to anyone in the group.

The Mat-Su Community Chorus is conducted by Katherine Eaddy.

Eaddy has a degree in music from the College of Moscow and teaches violin locally. She also plays with the Anchorage Civic Orchestra and still has time to direct the Harmonious Homeschoolers group.

For more information about the Christmas program or about the chorus in general, interested people may contact Eaddy at 373-5477.
