Christopher Alan Lacy

A memorial service for Eagle River resident Christopher Alan Lacy, 19, was held Monday, Aug. 13, 2001, at 6 p.m. at the Joy Lutheran Church on East Eagle River Loop Road, with Rev. Martin Eldred officiating.

Mr. Lacy died Aug. 7, 2001 at his home. He was born Feb. 18, 1982 in Anchorage and lived in Eagle River from 1982 through 1990. He moved to Wasilla in 1990, then back to Eagle River in April 2001.

Mr. Lacy attended Homestead Elementary from kindergarten through second grade, Tanaina Elementary from third through fifth grade, Wasilla Middle School and Wasilla High School for 9th and 10th grade and received his GED in 2000. He enjoyed snowmachining, motorcycling, clam digging, fishing and had recently taken up golf.

His family said, "Christopher touched peoples lives in ways he never imagined. His passing will strengthen the love we all have buried in our hearts. We will remember him with joy, knowing he rests in the presence of the Lord our God."

Mr. Lacy is survived by his mother and father, Cheryl and Neal Lacy; sister Kendall Lacy; grandparents Alan and Katherine Dickson, Ruth and Lloyd Hankins and Lois and Ray Lacy; uncles Mark Kahklen, Gary Lacy, Bret Dickson and Howard Lacy; aunts Karla Dickson, Susan Lacy, Emily Lewandowski, Ah Chan Lacy, Kathy Hall, Helen Shively and Pam Kaiser; cousins Tamara Novotney, Bob Novotney; his biological father, John Brewer, and many others.

The family has requested that memorial contributions be directed to the Hope Cottage Inc., 540 West International Airport Road, Anchorage, AK 99518. Arrangements were made by Witzleben Family Funeral Homes and Crematory.
