PALMER — A report that surfaced earlier this week may lead to Chugiak forfeiting its three prep football wins, and Colony is one of three teams that could benefit.
The Mustangs are reported to have used an ineligible player during each of their six games this season. Chugiak was 3-3, with wins over South Anchorage, Eagle River and Colony.
“Nothing’s official yet,” Colony head coach Brian McIntosh said Thursday night. “Our kids don’t even know about it yet.”
McIntosh said the Knights have a friendly rivalry with the Mustangs, and participate in camps together in the offseason.
“We do so much stuff with Chugiak,” McIntosh said. “We’re not going to make a big deal about it. We’re just going to go about our business.”
The Knights stood at 0-5 before the questions with the Chugiak game. If Colony is awarded the victory, the Knights would become the second Valley team to earn a forfeit win this season. Earlier in the year, Skyview was forced to vacate a win over Houston.
