The Mat-Su Miners started the 2022 Alaska Baseball League season on a six-game winning streak. Chugiak started with four straight losses. But the roles reversed Tuesday night.
The Chinooks jumped to an early lead and scored a 7-3 win over the Miners at Hermon Brothers Field in Palmer.
Cade Manning led Mat-Su at the plate, finishing 3 for 4. Manning blasted his first home run of the summer, a solo shot in the seventh. Manning also singled twice.
Josh Paino and Steven Lancia also doubled in the loss. Blake Avila added a pair of singles.
Mason Brandenberger was tagged with the loss after allowing five hits and four earned runs over three innings.
