The City of Houston announced the launch of “City of Houston, Alaska,” a mobile application designed in collaboration with GOGov that will allow residents to access city updates and alerts.
This free app keeps residents connected with the latest information about City services, events, alerts, and more - all delivered instantly through push notifications. Users can get updates about upcoming meetings, road work and detour announcements, position openings, and more.
“Our team is committed to ensuring Houston residents stay informed, engaged, and empowered,” said Mayor Carter Cole in a press release. “We have heard from residents that they want quicker and faster access to information from the source, and not social media spin. This app represents a significant step forward in enhancing our digital presence. This app gives residents a new, convenient way to receive real-time updates directly from City Hall.”
Within the City of Houston, Alaska mobile app, residents can have a direct link to the city’s official website, which has only been able to accessed through the city’s Facebook page.
“This app introduces important notifications and features SMS/Texting and Voice Calling capabilities,” said Public Safety Director Christian Hartley. “By providing residents with immediate and easy access to information and alerts, we’re ensuring our community stays safe and well-informed about critical public safety matters.”
The City of Houston, Alaska app is available for free through the App Store and Google Play.
