WASILLA — The city of Wasilla is celebrating the annual Fourth of July Parade along with accompanying events commemorating Independence Day and community connection throughout the day.

The parade kicks off Tuesday, July 4 at 11 a.m. and it’s sure to show a wide variety of new and familiar floats.

The parade typically will start from Wasilla High School parking lot and make its way through the downtown area, venturing past Wasilla City Hall and throughout downtown Wasilla.

The Mayor's Picnic will follow shortly after the parade from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Iditapark.

The Mayor’s Picnic will feature free hotdogs for everyone, a hot dog eating contest, live music, vendor booths, a bounce house, and a variety of games and contests for children.
