Before the regularly scheduled city council meeting got into full swing Monday evening, two new members were sworn into office.
Timothy V. Johnson and Ian Crafton were administered the oath of office by City Clerk Jamie Newman, vowing to honestly, faithfully, and impartially fulfill their duties as a council member.
“I want to thank those who voted for me, even though I was running unopposed,” said Councilman Johnson after being sworn in for his second term.
“I will really endeavor to do the best job that I can for the city, and to keep the city on a good financial track, and make sure that our community is a community that we would all love to live in, and enjoy doing so.”
Crafton, who previously served as the Vice Chair of the Wasilla Planning Commission, also thanked those who voted for him
“I look forward to serving the community for the next three years. I really appreciate it and am looking forward to working with everyone (on the council) to see what we can accomplish.” He also thanked Simon Brown, who he ran against during this past election, for his service to the city.
The next regular City of Wasilla council meeting is Nov. 13 at 6 p.m. in Wasilla City Hall.
