A suspect described as a Caucasian man, 20 to 25 years old, robbed Knik Country Video Store at Mile 4 Knik-Goose Bay Road Tuesday, according to Alaska State Troopers, and anyone with information is asked to contact them.
Clerks described the robber as a heavy-set, dark-complected man with dark hair. He was wearing a black cap, black sweatshirt, black pants and black boots. The suspect was believed to be driving a 1980s model Honda Prelude, gold or light tan in color, with a sunroof.
The suspect apparently entered the store at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday and confronted the clerk. He threatened her if she did not give him the money in the cash register. She complied, and he left on foot.
About 45 minutes earlier, witnesses said they believe they saw the man pull into the parking lot playing loud music, said Chris Kane, the store's manager. When the suspect fled after the robbery, he didn't appear to have his car with him, she said.
No weapon was observed and an undisclosed amount of cash was taken.
Anyone with information is asked to call 745-2131.
