PALMER — Borough Mayor Talis Colberg will soon be taking on a new role as head of Mat-Su College, the University of Alaska Anchorage announced late Thursday night.
Colberg was one of four finalists interviewed for the position. He holds a PhD from the University of Alaska Fairbanks and has taught history as an adjunct professor at the college. He is also an attorney who has practiced most recently in the worker's compensation field. He served as the state’s Attorney General under then-governor Sarah Palin.
Colberg will transition into the job as the summer concludes. The man he replaces, retiring college director Dennis Clark, said previously that he believes it is likely Colberg will be fully on his own just after classes resume in the fall.
