The Colony boys and girls scored top-3 finishes in the team standings during the first big prep cross-country running meet of the season, the Ted McKenney Invitational at the Tsalteshi Trails Saturday in Soldotna.
The Knights posted a runner-up finish with 106 total points in the varsity boys team standings, The Colony girls were third with 127 points.
Colony sophomore Ella Hopkins led Valley runners with a third-place finish in the varsity girls race, clocking a time of 20 minutes, 9 seconds. Knights senior Matthew Rongitsch led Valley boys, finishing eighth with a time of 16:38.
Zac Cheyette (12th) and Coby Marvin (22nd) both placed in the top 25 for the Colony boys. Palmer junior Fischer Adams led the Moose boys with AN 11th-place finish and Tobin Miller was 17th for Palmer.
Stephen Hafen was 21st to lead Wasilla.
Freshman Morgan Ainsworth placed eighth for the Colony girls.
Junior Mya Campbell led Redington with a time of 22:47. Kinley Bruno led Wasilla with a mark of 23:19.
