The Colony girls and boys finished second in the team standings during the Palmer Invitational track and field meet over the weekend at Palmer High School.
Ella Hopkins and Annelise Larsen each placed in three individual events to lead the Colony girls. Hopkins was second in the 800 meters and the 3,200, and fourth in the 1,600. Larsen placed third in the 400, fourth in the 100 and fifth in the 200.
Carolina Corbin was also second in the 5,000 for CHS. Malia Matthews (high jump), Audin Cress (discus) and Breeze Buchanan (5,000) placed third; Isela Austin (5,000) was fourth; Mary Burnett (200) was sixth; Alexis Schultz (5,000) finished seventh; and Caroline Mitchell (100) was eighth.
Colony had 100 points in the girls team standings.
Trygve Vang-Thompson led Colony with a win in the boys 5,000 meters, with a time of 17 minutes, 23.53 seconds.
Ben Holladay (shot put), Kenton Phelps (discus) and Trevor Jamison (triple jump) were all a runner-up in their events. Jeremiah Brown (high jump) and Ethan McNulty (discus) were third; Tobias Buchanan (1,600) was fourth; Buchanan (1,600 and 3,200), Andrew Richardson (discus) and William Erickson (long jump) were fifth; and Alexander Charles placed eighth in the 100.
The Knights finished with 82 points in the boys team standings.
Abby Pettit led Palmer with a first-place finish in the shot put, with a season-best throw of 35 feet, 11.75 inches. Leila Petersen was second in 400 and third in the 200. Winter Shaw (5,000) and Avery Johnson (high jump) finished fifth for the Moose.
Nolan Garner was fifth in the high jump and eighth in the discus to lead the Palmer boys.
Alexia Pike led the Redington girls with a second-place finish in the discus.
Mia Christiansen (discus) was sixth; Makayla Compton (300 hurdles) finished seventh; and McKinley Hafen (high jump) was eighth to lead the Wasilla girls.
