PALMER ¬— A slow start didn’t stop the Colony Knights from clinching the series sweep Saturday afternoon.
Colony rallied from an early deficit to score a 48-40 win over Kodiak. With the win, Colony swept the two-game Northern Lights Conference home series, and improved to 5-1 in NLC play. Colony beat Kodiak 50-27 Friday.
Faith Farris scored all 12 of her points in the second half and Ashley Turcotte recorded 13 of her game-high 17 during the final two quarters. Farris gave Colony its first lead of the game, hitting a three-pointer on her team’s first possession of the fourth quarter. Farris added another three-pointer on Colony’s next possession to push the advantage to six. Farris was also 4 of 6 from the free throw line during the final period. Turcotte also hit a three-pointer late, and scored seven points in the fourth.
Kodiak started the game on a 9-0 run, and led 13-4 after the first quarter. Colony was held scoreless until a Turcotte layup with 1:21 left in the first quarter.
Dannika Catt led Kodiak with 13 points.
Friday, Farris poured in 26 to lead Colony to a 50-27 win over the Bears. Colony outscored Kodiak 19-5 in the third quarter and 28-13 in the second half.

Colony boys win at Kodiak
KODIAK — The Colony boys opened a two-game NLC series at Kodiak with a 57-48 win over the Bears Friday night.
Colony trailed only once during the game, as Kodiak held a 4-3 lead. Bailey West and Graham Dinkel scored 10 points each. West and Anton Chamblee both had a pair of three-pointers.
