The Colony Knights boys soccer squad used a victory in a rematch of the 2024 state title game to stretch its undefeated record to 9-0-0.
Colony edged South Anchorage 2-1 Monday night at Colony High School.
Finn Hofmann netted the game-winner during the 55th minute of the victory over the Wolverines. Hofmann also set up Colony’s first score of the game, an Owen Dietz goal in the 39th minute. Dietz also had an assist on Hofmann’s goal.
South beat Colony in the 2024 title match.
Colony also earned a 2-1 win over Chugiak on Friday, scoring both goals in the first half. Isaac Villa scored during the 19th minute and Dietz added a goal in the 27th minute. Hofmann and Villa had the assists.
Dietz had a goal and two assists during a 5-1 win over Soldotna on Thursday. Villa and Alex Simeck also scored.
The Colony girls posted a 4-0 win over West Anchorage on Tuesday. Avrie Geigerich had a goal and two assists. Hannah Hofmann finished with a goal and an assist. Asha Gerteisen and Sammy Gerteisen also scored.
The Knights also beat Soldotna 4-0 Thursday. Asha Gerteisen finished with the hat trick, scoring during the 48th, 56th and 58th minutes. Geigerich scored Colony’s first goal in the 39th minute.
Chugiak beat Colony 4-0 on Saturday.
Palmer netted a varsity sweep over Grace Christian Tuesday at Palmer High.
Aelin Serencha and Lila Pettit scored for the Palmer girls in a 2-0 victory over the Grizzlies. Charlotte Marciales earned the shutout for the Moose.
The boys blanked Grace 5-0. Bodie Miller and Cole Miller scored two goals each. Elijah Von Gunten also scored. Abe Chin had the shutout for Palmer.
Defending Division I girls state champion Dimond handed Wasilla its first loss of the season, beating the Warriors 2-0.
