The Colony Knights placed third in the Monster Bash Duals wrestling tournament Saturday at South Anchorage High School.
The Knights finished 4-2 in the duals.
Colony beat Palmer 50-20, Wasilla 54-21, Thunder Mountain 57-15 and Redington 66-9. The Knights suffered losses to Soldotna 62-15 and South Anchorage 66-6.
South was first in the annual duals round robin meet, and SoHi placed second.
Palmer was fourth at 3-3. The Moose beat Redington 48-9, Wasilla 48-30, and Thunder Mountain 52-22, and lost to Colony 50-20, South 66-6 and Soldotna 65-12.
Wasilla was sixth at 1-5 and Redington was seventh at 0-6. Wasilla beat Redington 48-18.
Palmer placed second in the Monster Bash girls tournament at South. Palmer finished with 81 total points, two shy of first-place Bethel. Noelle Buck led the Moose with a first-place finish at 235 pounds.
Redington was third with 74 points. Ashlynn Akers led the Huskies, finishing first at 100. Josephine Granger (145) and Nikayla Miller (235) placed second.
Wasilla was fourth with 69 points. Kichelle Frizzelle (114) and Brynlee Lutz (126) won their weight classes, and Taylor Cooley (100), Oriana Williams (114) and Taryn Wright (126) placed second.
In Nikiski, Colony’s Gabriel Crockett (103) and Wasilla’s John Anderson (160) were both second in the Top Dog tournament. In the girls tourney, Colony’s Amelia Fawcett (145) and Aspen Kelly (152) were first, Colony’s Sophia Ellibee (114) and Houston’s Mongolia Lo (145) placed second.
