Two weeks ago, the Colony Knights boys swimming team captured wins in every individual and relay race. Over the weekend, the Knights returned to the Kenai Peninsula and did it again.
Colony won all eight boys races and the three relays en route to grabbing the team title during the Kenai Invitational in Kenai.
Pierce McDonough and Isaiah Hulien each won a pair of events to lead the Knights. McDonough was first in the 200-yard individual medley and 100 backstroke. Hulien placed first in the 100 butterfly and 100 breaststroke.
Iver Gates (200 freestyle), Thomas Smith (50 freestyle), Reven Settle (100 freestyle) and Beck LaBoucane (500 freestyle). The Knights were also first in the 200 medley, 200 freestyle and 400 freestyle relays.
Colony finished with 171 total points in the team standings, nearly 100 more than runner-up Kenai.
The Colony girls also took home the team title with 103 points, edging host Kenai by just a point.
Jerzey Lane (200 freestyle) and Katie Dollick (100 backstroke) each individual swimming events for the Colony girls. Charlize McManus finished first in the diving event for the Knights.
Palmer finished third in the team standings with 65 points. Kylie Benner (100 butterfly) and Nina Adams (100 breaststroke) won events for the Moose.
Palmer was also third in the boys standings with 36 points. Jackson Charton led Palmer with second-place finishes in the 50 freestyle and 500 freestyle,
Valley athletes swept the top four spots in the girls diving event, with Colony’s Claire Wallstrum and Samantha Grisham, and Palmer’s Molly Athens following McManus in second, third and fourth.
