The Colony Knights earned a big victory on the trails Saturday afternoon.
The Knights captured the boys team title during the George Plumley Invitational at Palmer High School.
The Knights finished with 78 total points, well ahead of runner-up West Anchorage, which had 101. Matthew Rongitsch led Colony with a second-place finish in the boys race, and a time of 16 minutes, 20 seconds. It marked the senior’s best time and finish of the season.
Colony placed four runners in the boys top 25. Tobias Buchanan was 11th, followed by Zac Cheyette (21st) and Coby Marvin (23rd).
Colony was also third in the girls team standings with 128. Freshman Morgan Ainsworth was sixth to lead the Knights, finishing with a time of 20:12. Teammate Ella Hopkins was close behind, placing eighth at 20:17. Shea Alaniva ws 24th for Colony.
Fischer Adams led Palmer with a sixth-place finish and time of 16:57 in the boys race.
Aceton Edgerton led the Wasilla boys with a time of 18:24. Myles Campbell led the Redington boys with a time of 20:48.
Mya Campbell led the Redington girls with a time of 22:23. Kinley Bruno had the top time for the Wasilla girls, with a mark of 22:56. Alder Deal led the Palmer girls with a time of 24:03.
