PALMER — The Greater Palmer Chamber of Commerce brought back a beloved annual tradition during the 2023 Colony Days festival, the annual Egg Toss event.
"Having the egg toss come back was great," Greater Palmer Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Ailis Vann said.
Back from a one-year hiatus, the Egg Toss drew many participants of all ages and backgrounds. Vann said that former egg toss champion Brandon Allred of Allred Services helped them bring the event back.
The egg toss is a great community event that everyone can participate in! I love what it does to bring people together and laugh," Vann said.
Eagle River residents Jared Roberts and Rio Sarmiento won this year's Egg Toss event.
"It was eggscellent," Roberts said.
Sarmiento said they used their laser-focused teamwork and they gave it their all to overcome all opposition.
"We were nervous but gamers get it done," Sarmiento said with a laugh.
This was the first year Roberts and Sarmiento visited the Colony Days festival.
They said that it was an enjoyable excursion.
"We love it," Roberts said. "It was bigger than we thought it would be. It's been fun."
