SOLDOTNA — The Colony girls opened their Northern Lights Conference schedule with a tough double-overtime loss to Soldotna at Colony High early in the year. But Saturday, the Knights grabbed a win on Soldotna’s home court. Colony edged Soldotna to claim a 33-29 win over the Stars in Soldotna Saturday.
Faith Farris scored 14 points to lead the Knights. Farris finished with five field goals and was 4 for 5 from the free throw line. Izzy Tweed added 10 points in the win.
With its win Saturday and a 45-20 victory over Kenai on Friday, Colony jumped to 5-4 in the NLC standings. Farris led the Knights with 15 points against the Kards.
The Colony boys also scored a two-game sweep of Peninsula opponents during the road trip. Saturday, Colony raced to a 65-43 win over Soldotna. Damien Fulp was one of four Knights in double figures and finished with 14 points. Graham Dinkel added 13 points in the victory, and Bailey West and Anton Chamblee chipped in a dozen each.
Colony beat Kenai 65-40 on Friday. Fulp led his team with 17 points.
Colony improved to 7-2 in NLC play with the wins.
