Colony girls place 2nd at Mat-Su Invite

Three of the area prep swimming squads participated in the Mat-Su Valley Invitational this weekend, but oddly enough the meet was held in Soldotna.

Due to recent guideline changes that ruled Palmer's starting area too shallow for the meet, the invitational was moved to the Kenai Peninsula.

Hosting the Valley meet in their home waters, the Soldotna Stars won both the boys' and the girls' team titles. Colony finished second in the girls' class, while Palmer swam to a third place finish in the boys team standings.

Sarah Brettrager finished first in the 50-meter freestyle and second in the 100 meter freestyle for the Knights. The Knights also finished second in the 400-meter freestyle relay.
