PALMER — Thanks to the scoring of Peyton Johnstone and a strong defensive effort in the second half, the Colony Knights rallied to force a 2-2 girls soccer tie against visiting Lathrop Thursday at Colony High School.
Colony trailed 2-0 at half, but Johnstone recorded a pair of goals during the final 40 minutes to tie the score. The CHS defense, led by goalie Mary Zmuda, kept Lathrop scoreless during the final 40 minutes.
In boys action, junior Ben Sande netted the hat trick to lead Colony to a 3-0 win over Lathrop.
Wasilla boys 4, Chugiak 2
CHUGIAK — Diego Chavez scored a pair of goals to lead Wasilla to a 4-2 nonconference victory over Chugiak at Chugiak High School Thursday.
Grig Lozko and Colton Fletcher also scored in the victory.
The Wasilla girls were also scheduled to face Chugiak, but that match was postponed until later in the season.
