The only swimmer who could beat Colony’s Jasmine Anderson in the pool Saturday has two Olympic medals.
Anderson finished as the girls runner-up in the Soldotna Pentathlon at the Kenai Pool. Seward’s Lydia Jacoby was the girls overall winner. Jacoby, a member of the U.S. Olympic swim team, recently won a gold and silver medal at the summer games in Tokyo.
Anderson finished with a total time of 2 minutes, 57.38 seconds. The total time includes the individual times of the meet’s five races: the 100-yard individual medley, 50 butterfly, 50 backstroke, 50 breaststroke and 50 freestyle. Jacoby’s total time was 2:52.73.
Anderson also led Colony to a first-place finish in the team standings and was one of four Knights to earn a top-10 finish. Jasmine Biederman (3:08.66) was fifth, Joscelyn Barratte (3:14.67) placed eighth and Merica Miller (3:16.77) placed ninth.
Kaylin Klotunowitch (3:20.71) led Wasilla with a 14th-place finish.
Palmer’s Stewart Sawyer was also a runner-up finishing second in the boys class with a total time of 2:43.96. The Moose boys also finished second in the boys class.
Palmer’s Connor Lee (2:54.31) was seventh for the Moose. Kristofer Vangorder led Colony with a total time of 2:55.86 and an eighth-place finish.
