It may not be at Caesars Palace, but Sam Loggins is winning big in Las Vegas. The Colony junior grappler finished fifth in 135-pound class of the Western Junior Regionals Greco-Roman wrestling tournament at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nev., on Wednesday.
Colony assistant coach Tony Olivera calls the event, “one of the toughest tournaments in the country.”
Colony senior Angelo Bellotte and junior Eric Fan also made the trip to Vegas. Both started 2-0 in the Western Junior Regionals freestyle tourney, which started on Thursday.
Olivera said Loggins, Bellotte and Fan are the only Alaska athletes in the tourney.
