Wasilla — Sen. Linda Menard shook hands with members of the first graduating class of 2009 to walk across the stage in the newly named Curtis D. Menard Sports Center Tuesday evening. A couple thousand friends and relatives gathered inside the Curtis C. Menard II Memorial Ice Arena to watch more than 200 graduating seniors from Colony High School get their diploma. The valedictorian was Collin Murphy.
