WASILLA — Colony High School's drama department is eager to unveil its rendition of "The Wizard of Oz" Thursday, Feb. 23 at 7 p.m. at the Glenn Massay Theater.
"We're ready," CHS drama and choir director Kelly Rentz said.
There are about 70 students involved in this large ensemble play.
"It's a grand show," Rentz said. "It's a big, fun dance number."
Rentz said her students have put in many hours preparing for this play. They even learned to operate special equipment that will help them fly across the stage.
“They've been working so hard," Rentz said. “There is so much talent.”
Rentz said “The Wizard of Oz” is a timeless tale that’s very relatable.
“It's a story for all ages,” Rentz said. “Your most loved things are close to you not in some dream somewhere.”
“The Wizard of Oz” runs for two weekends. Admission is $25. Students, seniors, and the military are admitted for $20. For showtimes and tickets, visit cdrama.booktix.com.
