The Colony Knights opened Railbelt Conference play with a win over their rival.
Toryn Coffey scored the game-winner with 2 minutes, 46 seconds left in regulation to lift the Knights to a 3-2 win over the Warriors Nov. 12 at the Menard Arena in Wasilla.
The Warriors scored a pair of goals in the third period. Branson Hagel used a power play tally to tie the score at 2 with 5:37 left. Kaden Schachle put the Warriors on the scoreboard midway through the final period.
Colony built a 2-0 lead in the game. Logan Lofland scored in the first period, and Dane Joseph added a goal for the Knights in the second.
Lofland factored into all three goals with a score and two assists.
Wasilla outshot the Knights 31-25. Traeton Adams made 29 saves in the Colony net. Carson Branholm made 22 saves for the Warriors.
Houston earned a 5-1 nonconference win over Wasilla Nov. 15 at the Brett Arena.
Andrey Fonev scored a pair of goals to lead the Hawks. Owen Hunter, Daniel Matveev and Domnin Efimov also scored. Fonev and Konev both had shorthanded goals. Matveev also had a pair of assists.
Matthew DeMaster scored the lone goal for the Warriors.
Houston outshot Wasilla 26-21. Dylan Shaffer made 20 saves in the Houston win. Braeden Willis stopped 21 shots for the Warriors.
