The Colony Knights earned a spot in the gold bracket during the annual Dimond/Service Volleyball Tournament over the weekend in Anchorage.
The Knights finished the tourney tied for fifth.
Colony was 1-2 in the bracket. The Knights defeated Barrow 2-1 (28-30, 25-18, 15-11), but were eliminated by Chugiak 2-0 (25-23, 25-22).
South Anchorage opened with a 2-0 (25-21,25-22) win over Colony.
The Wolverines went on to win the tournament.
The Knights were 6-2 in pool play during the first day of the tournament.
Palmer placed third in the silver bracket. The Moose beat Lathrop 2-1 (23-25, 25-20, 15-12) in the quarterfinals. Kenai got past Palmer 2-1 (22-25, 25-17, 15-10) in the semis.
Palmer was 4-4 in pool play.
