ANCHORAGE — A group of Colony Knights swam their way into the school record book Saturday afternoon.
Zach Bloom, Alex Kessler, Joseph Anderson and Larkin Udomporn posted a time of 1 minute and 45.05 seconds in the 200-yard individual medley, and broke a 20-year-old school record during the Bartlett/Chugiak Invitational Saturday at the Bartlett Pool.
The team bested the prior mark of 1:45.29 set in 1993.
Bloom also won the 200 freestyle during the annual invitational, which featured many of the top swimmers in Alaska. Bloom is undefeated this year, and currently ranked third in the top 16 swimmers in the state in that event. Bloom was also third in the 500 freestyle.
Kessler posted a runner-up finish in the 100 breaststroke.
Colony’s Bloom, Anderson, Kessler and Gaven Nelson also posted a second-place finish in the 400 freestyle relay.
