Colony’s Matthew Rongitsch ran to a runner-up finish during the varsity boys race of the Chugiak Stampede Saturday in Chugiak.
Rongitsch posted a time of 16 minutes, 23 seconds in the race, five seconds behind the winner, Grace Christian’s David Sliwinski. Rongitsch also helped lead the Knights to a third-place finish in the boys team standings.
Tobias Buchanan was seventh for the Knights. Coby Marvin finished 14.
Tobin Miller led Palmer with a 17th-place finish in the boys race.
Colony’s Ella Hopkins led Valley runners in the girls race with an eighth-place finish. Mya Campbell finished 24th for Redington.
