Colony senior, Palmer coach among those honored by NLC

PALMER — A Colony senior and Palmer coach were among winners of major prep soccer honors awarded by the Northern Lights Conference.

Colony senior Ben Atkinson was named the NLC Boys Player of the Year Award. Palmer girls mentor Harmony Chadwick was named NLC Girls Coach of the Year.

Atkinson was one of four Colony Knights named to the NLC boys first team. Kyle Bolam, Austin Richardson and Chris Olsen found their way onto the list. Ethan Keenan, Oleg Lozko and Cash McGregor were named first-team for the Wasilla boys. Chandler Jones represented Palmer on the boys first team.

Wasilla, Colony and Palmer each placed two athletes on the girls first team. Anne Woodings and Kat Godden represented Palmer. Ally Hull and Alexa Starr made the list for Wasilla. Rebecca Mackey and Bayli Jenksi made the team for Colony.
