ANCHORAGE — The Colony Knights opened the 2008 season with a 3-1 (25-20, 21-25, 25-19, 25-21) nonconference win over Grace Christian in Anchorage on Tuesday.
Senior Allie Grazulis led the Knights with 17 kills. Senior Jackie Hamann posted a team-high 12 digs and five aces.
Senior Kara Larson added seven kills in the win.
Colony is the first Mat-Su squad to hit the court following the preseason Palmer Jamboree hosted by Palmer High School last week.
Wasilla makes its 2008 debut with a two-match series against Northern Lights Conference rival Kodiak that starts today at 6:30 p.m. at Wasilla High School. Play continues tomorrow at 11:30 a.m.
Houston also plays tonight, hosting Grace Christian at 6 p.m. at HHS.
Palmer begins the season at Dimond High on Tuesday at 5 p.m.
