The Colony Knights hosted undefeated West Valley Saturday night looking for a win that would put them solely atop the Northern Railbelt Conference standings. It was not to be.

West Valley rolled past the Knights 20-0, making the Wolfpack the only team in the conference with an unblemished record.

West Valley's big running backs, Justin Ferringer and Ward Dobbs, continually ran for big gains to keep Colony's attacking defense off balance. Each ran for one touchdown in the game.

West Valley's big line on both sides of the ball proved to be too much for the Knights. The Wolfpack offensive line pushed Colony off the line of scrimmage, providing big holes for the running backs.

The defensive line contained Colony's running game, limiting only short yardage gains. Ferringer was continually able to get at Colony runners.

"West Valley has two great players in Dobbs and Ferringer," said Colony head coach Tom Lincoln. "We weren't able to stop them tonight."

Colony was able to mount a scoring drive in the third quarter, moving the ball down to West Valley's 18-yard-line.

A penalty pushed the ball back, then a fumble on fourth down squandered Colony's best opportunity of the night.

Colony hosts Juneau-Douglas on Saturday at 1 p.m.

Clemens passed for 139 yards in the game.
