Colony underclassmen sweep meet

WASILLA — Colony’s Anna Condio won four events to lead Colony to a lopsided victory in the girls’ team standings of the Valley Frosh/Soph Meet at Wasilla High School on Tuesday afternoon.

Condio finished first in the 100, 200, 300 hurdles and long jump events to help the Knights amass 172 total points. Runner-up Wasilla finished with 91.

Gin Berry (400), Catrina Nugent (100 hurdles) and Carmen Soto (triple jump) also won events for the Colony girls. Sylvia Tuisaula (shot put), Ceil Dunleavy (high jump), Alex Mathis (1,600) and Riley McLellan (800) won individual events for runner-up Wasilla.

Kimberly Quincy finished first in the discus for Houston.

The Knights edged Wasilla to win the boys’ team title. Colony finished with 126 total points, only two ahead of Wasilla.

Melvin Charles-White posted three wins for Colony, finishing first in the 400, 110 hurdles and 300 hurdles. Palmer’s Nick Daniels also boasted three victories, winning the 100, 200 and long jump. Wyatt Monear (discus), Dylan Simons (shot put) and Karl Greathouse (800) recorded first-place finishes for Wasilla. Johan Timmers led Susitna Valley with a win in the triple jump, and Aaden Hendricks won the high jump for Houston.t
