PALMER — Junior Ben Sande notched his third hat trick of the season to lead the Colony Knights to a 5-2 nonconferene win over the West Anchorage Eagles at Colony High School Saturday afternoon.
Sande, who also posted the hat trick during wins over Palmer and Bartlett last week, scored a pair of first-half goals for the Knights, and added a score during the second half. Cameron Shaw also scored for Colony, which improved to 5-3-1 with the victory. West also had an own goal in the first half.
Alex Valdez led Colony with a pair of assists.
Friday, Azzam Azzam scored a pair of first-half goals to lead Service to a 2-0 win over Colony in Anchorage.
Thursday, Sande and Harrison Menard teamed up for a pair of goals to lead Colony to a 2-0 win over Chugiak at Colony High.
Sande, with help from Menard, scored during the seventh minute to give Colony the early lead. Menard set up Sande’s second goal of the game during the 62nd minute. Zach Zmuda earned the shutout in the Knights net.
Earlier in the week, Colony tied Wasilla 1-1 at Wasilla’s Veterans Memorial Field

Bartlett beat Wasilla 2-0 Saturday.
Wasilla girls fall in Fairbanks
FAIRBANKS — Karli Fitzgerald scored four goals to lead Lathrop to a 4-1 nonconference girls soccer win over Wasilla Saturday afternoon in Fairbanks.
Alexa Starr converted a penalty kick to account for Wasilla’s lone goal.
West Valley edged Wasilla 1-0 in Fairbanks Friday evening.
